Martina Silcock

Producer & Director

Born and raised in Manchester, British-Irish producer Martina Silcock’s passion for scripted drama has shaped her career. She has worked on a diverse slate of shorts, features and high-end TV dramas, including Spirit Award-winning Pig, The Last Kingdom, My Mad Fat Diary, Curfew, the BAFTA-nominated Mogul Mowgli, and Emmy-winning Man in an Orange Shirt. Martina’s work in production has led her across the globe, including Hong Kong, Greece, Hungary, and now the USA. She is currently living in Los Angeles where she is developing several US- and UK-based projects, as well as writing a short and feature she will direct. Her aim is to elevate underrepresented voices, with a particular focus on stories dealing with identity and relationships, especially those with science fiction and magical realist elements.

In 2020 she founded LookBeyondTheList.com, a resources site for systemically underrepresented groups working behind the camera in scripted TV and film.

Martina is a fifth year BAFTA US Talent and was a participant in Inside Pictures 2021/22. She was a mentor for Film Independent Global Media Makers 2022 and 2023.

Big Mike’s Cabin is a narrative feature film that follows two childfree cat ladies in their 40s reconnecting over a wild and mystical weekend in the Ozarks.

A year after losing their flower shop, two estranged women struggle to save their friendship at a cabin in the Ozarks until they receive help from a mystical maintenance man, benevolent ghost and wise pet rooster.  The story has the strong female friendship of Thelma & Louise, the healing nature of Nomadland and the eccentric community of I Love Dick.

The film stars Christian Camargo (Dexter), Brett Cullen (The Dark Knight Rises) , Cleo King (Magnolia), Jenny O’Hara (Mystic River), Brett Butler (Grace Under Fire), Michael Winslow (Police Academy)and Nancy Lenehan (The Boys).

The film will shoot in Springfield, MO and the Ozarks in Fall 2025.
